Malotira*, Cretan herbal (Sideritis syriaca)
Known for its healing properties since ancient times with antibacterial and antioxidant substances.
Therapeutic properties: Cretan mountain tea is an aromatic, tasty and light herbal tea. It is a traditional morning drink for the inhabitants of Western Crete and a medicinal herb against colds, stomach and respiratory diseases.
It grows between 800 and 2,000 meters above sea level and blooms from the end of June to the end of July. It is collected from May to August.
